For over 14 years, Marlene G. Naistadt has worked with the firm’s clients on ongoing administrative matters including government filings, communication with governmental agencies (including the Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), HIPAA compliance, communications to participants, fidelity bonding and fiduciary liability insurance coverage.
In communicating with clients and their service providers, Marlene routinely addresses matters involving claim denials, proofs of claim in class actions, mergers, governmental agency audits, and the preparation of draft agreements with service providers including custodians, computer consultants and others. She also has significant experience preparing draft plan documents, summary plan descriptions amendments, expense sharing agreements and participation agreements.
Prior to joining Blitman & King LLP, Marlene worked at the Yale University School of Medicine and finds this professional experience particularly useful when working with her health and welfare plan clients.
Marlene is a past Board member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central New York and the YWCA. She is also a past officer of the Syracuse Corvette Club. Today, she continues her community involvement through fund raising efforts for several charities, including the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund.
