Since 1984, Kelly L. Cook has focused her career at Blitman & King on ERISA and employee benefit matters. With over 30 years of experience in benefits administration and substantial training as a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist, she helps deliver valuable and cost-effective service to our employee benefits clientele.
In communicating with plan sponsors and their benefits department, Kelly routinely addresses administrative matters involving participants’ eligibility for benefits, benefit claims and appeal procedures, plan distributions and required tax withholdings, COBRA administration and HIPAA compliance. She also provides assistance with preparation of plan documents, trust agreements, summary plan descriptions, annual and periodic notices to participants, and service provider agreements, as well as benefit applications and other operational forms.
Kelly also assists plan sponsors and coordinates with service providers concerning renewal of fiduciary liability insurance and fidelity bond policies, reporting and disclosure requirements, and applications for IRS tax-exempt status, as well as assistance with Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Department of Labor audits and litigation involving employee benefit plans.
Ms. Cook is a native of Upstate New York. When not serving the firm’s clients, Ms. Cook enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and boating in the Finger Lakes, Lake Ontario, St. Lawrence River and surrounding regions.
